Yet Another Early Morning

Hello!

This morning I woke up yet again, you guessed it, really really early. As much as I don’t want to leave my unbelievably warm and cozy bed, I know that my workout will be worth it. This morning’s workout was pretty good, not my favorite though. I came up with it this morning while I was still half asleep πŸ™‚

Here it is!

Circuits!!

Circuit #1: Each exercise for 60 seconds with a 30 second rest

  1. spider pushups
  2. sandbag elevated hip lift
  3. pushup position, weight in hands, alternate lifting each handΒ 
  4. V-Rock

REPEAT!

Circuit #2: Each exercise for 45 seconds with a 15 second rest

  1. back squats (with weight)
  2. tricep dips
  3. plank
  4. jumping jacks

REPEAT!

I did a 5 minute warmup but no cool down because I ran out of time. Tomorrow, I am hoping to put together a really great leg workout, so stay tuned! πŸ™‚

Quick Tuesday Workout

Hello! πŸ™‚

This morning I woke up nice and early again (5am!) and did my workout. I was unbelievably tired this morning (probably due to the fact that I stayed up late watching Biggest Loser…:)) but I still got my butt out of bed and worked out for about a half hour. Here is my workout!

This workout actually had me pretty tired by the end. It isn’t really heavy on leg stuff but my legs were hurting pretty badly.

I have been so busy lately and haven’t been able to post lately but I’m here now πŸ™‚

After this workout I wasn’t really feeling well so I didn’t really do anything else after I took a shower. I just took a nap and watched a movie (Crazy, Stupid, Love, love that movie :)). I wanted to be well rested for my brother’s baseball practice that night! I go to all of his practices and this season the coaches have let me workout the team out for 20 minutes every Saturday! How cool is that?? They aren’t too happy that I put them through difficult workouts but it’s good for them πŸ™‚ So, as I said, I wasn’t feeling very good so I didn’t do the workout with them, I just told them what to do and yelled at them a little… or a lot πŸ™‚ but here’s the workout I had them do:

 

25 seconds on/ 5 seconds rest Β  Β X24

  1. Ninja tuck jumps
  2. Touchdowns
  3. Bicycles
  4. Spider pushups

 

That was the first part of the workout. So, the ‘X24’ means that there are 24 rounds total. Which means that you set your interval timer to 24 rounds but you are only doing each exercise 6 times, for a total of 12 minutes. (If that is confusing, please let me know :))Β 

Also, Saturday night I tried green tea for the first time and found out that I love it! I have just started liking tea but I hadn’t tried green tea! I tried it without anything in it, no sugar or milk or lemon. I’m glad I like green tea because it has so many health benefits and it’s so good for you!

 

Okay, so yesterday I went to the mall with my mum and my friend to look for dresses! I found three dresses that I love so I bought all of them πŸ™‚ I also got some fabulous shoes!

I didn’t workout yesterday because I felt that I needed to take a day off. I was feeling pretty exhausted and needed to let my body take a break.

 

Today, I have already gone for a run! I only ran about 3.3 miles but it is about 15 degrees outside so I figured 3 miles was pretty good. I will probably lift a little later so I’ll keep you guys posted πŸ™‚

Motivation!

Good evening!

I stayed home all day today and pretty much did nothing except workout and watch some Netflix, but it was great! I actually got my brother to workout with me! He did my arm workout from the other day and he thought it was pretty hard. Today the workout I did was just a regular rep workout that I threw together this morning but it was really difficult. Sometimes when I’m working out and I am getting really tired I think to myself “I couldΒ just do one set of these instead of two..” but then I do two anyway because there is no point in cheating myself, no matter how tired I am.

Sometimes it’s hard to find motivation especially when you’re feeling down or bad about yourself. What I have done is, in my room, I created a “Motivation Wall.” I taped up quotes and pictures and a countdown to summer! I keep that up to remind me to work hard everyday. I’m pretty sure I saw this idea on Pinterest (surprise, surprise :)) and I love it!

Also, what I do is I have a whole album in my phone dedicated to motivational pictures and quotes. Whenever I don’t feel like working out or I feel like eating something I know I shouldn’t eat, I look through some of the pictures I have in that album (there are about 260 pictures in this album… haha :)); they give me motivation to get my butt off the couch and go work out!

Well, anyway, I was plenty motivated today and got my workout done this morning! What I have decided to do, down in my basement where I do all my working out, is write all of my workouts on a white board! That way it’s easy to see and I’m not trying to find that little piece of paper that I wrote my workout on πŸ™‚

The divebombers and burpees with a pushup killed me, but I did get all the sets done! I felt so great after this workout, especially since I was covered in well-deserved sweat πŸ™‚

 

Today for lunch I tried something new! I had peanut butter toast with a banana for breakfast, so, for lunch I didn’t want to have more bread. I decided to make my sandwich on lettuce! It was so delicious and refreshing! I just put two pieces of ham and one piece of cheese on two pieces of lettuce and, bam! I had an amazing sandwich!

Today, my best friend in the whole world came over because we decided to do some yoga this afternoon. She wants to try to be healthier so I’m trying to help her and give her the most support that I can. The only problem was: neither of us really knew anything about yoga. So, essentially, all we did was sit on the floor, stretch and talk about life. We had a good time but not much yoga-ing was getting done! I think next time we’ll look up some yoga videos on the Internet or something.

It’s the Weekend!

For me anyway πŸ™‚

I have a four-day weekend coming up and I’m am very excited! This semester is over, I aced all my finals and I am feeling good!

My wonderful day started out with an Interval workout on my elliptical followed by some strength training. I wanted to do some intervals because my arms are still sore from yesterdays workout πŸ™‚ even though I did add in some arms stuff to the end!

2 minute medium effort warmup

90sec – 70% effort

30sec – 45% effort

60sec – 90% effort

90sec – 70% effort

Well, that was my workout that I did this morning! It looks really long but it really wasn’t. I think it took me about 35 minutes, but I wasn’t really keeping track.

So, I need to find a dress (kind of dressy, but not too much) for an event that I have towards the beginning of February. Does anyone have any ideas of where I can look? I have checked multiple places but nothing really speaks to me.

We were out of bananas so I thought I’d make something different for breakfast πŸ™‚ I added some blueberries, strawberries and granola to vanilla Greek Yogurt. It’ s not quiteΒ as good as the yogurt-peanut butter-banana deliciousness.. but it’s a close second!

I realized that I need to start drinking more water throughout the day. I barely even drink a whole water bottle all day! I am so thirsty by the end of the day, which I know isn’t good, but I just forget to drink water during the day! Any ideas?

I was looking through my phone today and realized that I have so many motivational pictures of quotes that I have saved from Pinterest or Tumblr. For example:

I was thinking of making a page here at Confessions of a Fitness Lover just for motivational pictures and quotes. The problem is: I don’t own those pictures and I’m not sure if I’m allowed to post them… Can I if I state that they aren’t mine? If anyone knows, please let me know because I would love to do that.

Amazing Arms!

Hello everyone! I hope everyone is having a good day πŸ™‚

My day started off with my most favorite breakfast, that one that I told you about yesterday! I just added some peanut butter and banana to some vanilla Greek Yogurt and made this absolutely amazing (and addicting!) breakfast!

This is so good, I highly recommend trying it! You could even sprinkle some cinnamon in there for a little something extra πŸ™‚

 

My workout today was all about arms! By the end Β of this my arms would barely move, I don’t think I’ll be able to pick up anything in the net couple of days!

  4. 75 Mountain Climbers
  5. 25 bicep curls

  7. 15 reverse pushups (or pullups)
  8. 20 pushups
  9. 50 jumping jacks
  10. 20 bent-over rows

*Repeat this 2 more times!*

Early Morning

Hello everyone!

As you can tell from the title, I had an early morning. My day started up around 5am. Yup, you read that right, 5AM. I have set my alarm to wake me up that early, so that I can fit in my workout and start my day off right, even though waking up at 5am isn’t the easiest thing. Do you have any ideas on making getting up in the morning easier??

Well, though it was hard to get up, I did it! πŸ™‚ And I got my workout and shower done all before 6:30. I think that’s pretty dang good. The workout I did this morning was pretty hard. I wrote it all out last night while watching The Biggest Loser (more on that later!). Okay, here’s my workout!

Rep Workout!

5 minute warmup jog

  1. 2X20 squats with weight (I used about 10lbs.)Β 
  2. 2X35 jumping jacks
  3. 2X20 bicep curls
  4. 1:00 minute sprint
  5. :30 jog
  6. :45 plank
  7. 2X20 reverse crunches
  8. :30 touchdowns
  9. 2X20 medicine ball slams ( I used a 10 lb. medicine ball)
  10. 2X50 Mountain Climbers
  11. 1:00 minute sprint
  12. :30 jog
  13. :45 wall sit
  14. 2X10 reverse pushups (I used my Equalizer)
  15. 2X20 burpees (no pushup)

5 minute cool down jog

 

 

There it is! This workout was a killer at 5:30 in the morning, I was sweating like a pig! Again, if you have any questions about any exercises, just let me know πŸ™‚

Okay, so about The Biggest Loser. (Spoiler Alert!) I am so upset that Pam went home! After her success last week I thought she could keep it up. Now, it’s just Danni on the white team with Jillian. I would be scared, but also, I would know that I was working with the best. I would love to have a personal training session with Jillian! How cool would that be?! I think that the people on The Biggest Loser are so inspirational. The initiative they take to change their lives for the better, knowing how hard it’s going to be, is just so remarkable and influential. I also love that this season they are addressing childhood obesity. I think this is a great way to inform people about this terrible epidemic that has been on the rise. It truly is a great show! What do you think?

So for breakfast this morning (after my hardcore workout :)), I made my favorite thing ever. This is a concoction that I found on Pinterest (hey! follow me!) and it has seriously changed my life; I think I am addicted to it… What is it, you ask? Well, you take Vanilla Greek Yogurt (I use the Hannaford’s brand) and you mix in about a tablespoon of peanut butter (I use Jif, but I want to try almond butter… Let me know if you do!). Then, all that’s left to do is mix in some cut up banana and, voila! You’ve just made the best thing in the world! πŸ™‚ I would highly recommend that you try is because, believe me, if you like peanut butter, you will love this breakfast! (I will post a picture of it when I have it tomorrow, I’m still new at this whole blogging-and-taking-pictures-of-what-you-eat thing :))

– I know I would absolutely LOVE to have a PT session with Jillian! She really knows her stuff and she would push me harder than I can push myself. Plus, she is just such a great role model!

Circuit Workout and Pizza!

Hello everyone!

I have had a fairly productive day so far. I got my workout done, which I will share with you in a minute, and I got a good amount of work done, so today has been good! How has your day been thus far?

I did my workout earlier this morning. When I come up with my workouts I pretty much just throw a bunch of exercises together. There really is no rhyme or reason other than trying to put a good workout together. This workout that I did today was a circuit workout and here it is!

Circuit Workout

>Warmup: 5 minutes, cardio of choice

Circuit #1:

Do each exercise for 60 seconds with a 30-second break in between each exercise.

  1. Squat Jumps
  2. 5 Jumping Jacks —> Burpee with Pushup
  3. Reverse Crunches
  4. 4 Tricep Pushups —> 4 Regular PushupsΒ 

*Repeat this circuit one more time! Then take a 1-minute break.*

Circuit #2:

Do each exercise for 90 seconds with a 30-second break in between.

  1. Plank Hops, Plank Dips
  2. 10 Tuck Jumps —> 20 Mountain Climbers
  3. Jump Rope/ Calf Raises (for this one, every 15 seconds I switched between jumping rope and calf raises, just to mix it up :))
  4. Lunge and Twist with a medicine ball, alternating legs

>Cool down: 5 minutes, cardio of choice

Total Time is 30 minutes

That is the workout I did today and boy, was I sweating! If you have any questions about any of the exercises just let me know! So, a lot of the workouts that I do consist of multiple exercises per interval (i.e. 5 jumping jacks —> burpee with pushup). When you see that all you do is keep repeating that sequence until the timer dings! Easy as pie πŸ™‚

As you can probably tell from the title of my blog, I love fitness! And through this blog I hope to bring my love of fitness and exercise to anyone who is nice enough to stop by and read this little blog of mine! πŸ™‚

Alright, so you are probably wondering a little about me, and I am going to tell you what you want to know!

I absolutely love working out (obviously!), reading, music (pretty much any kind of music) and food! I also like cooking, sports and writing. I am a softball player and I am a Second Degree Black Belt in karate. I don’t have any pets, but I do wish I had a dog. That way I could run with him/her everyday! Oh, that’s another thing! I love running, I ran cross country the first two years of high school but it was getting too competitive and I figured I could just run on my own.Β Another thing I am pretty much addicted to is Pinterest. I think it is a great website, but I end up going on there for hours on end, pinning away.

Every day I will try to post what I did for a workout and what I ate for food and maybe some happenings throughout the day. I really want this to be a friendly and motivational blog to help those of you who want to get back on the fitness bandwagon but don’t know how. And those of you who are on the “bandwagon”, maybe my blog will give you some new ideas for workouts or food! If you have any suggestions or constructive criticism, please don’t be afraid to let me know, I really would love some feedback!

Now, for safety and other reasons, I am not going to be posting my full name or where I live. To me, that is just too private to put on the Internet. But I will share with you guys as much as I can. πŸ™‚ Β I hope that you will enjoy this blog as much as I will enjoy writing it!
